As Ming Chuan is located on a hillside with lush vegetation, in early summer, snakes are active. Faculty and staff members, and students are advised to be cautious when approaching slopes or grassy areas to prevent encounters with snakes. Here are a few measures and precautions regarding avoidance of snakes:
- Snakes like to hide in dark crevices and damp places, so it is important to avoid piling up debris.
- Try to avoid walking through grassy or bushy areas. If necessary, wear high-top boots and gloves to prevent snake bites.
- Do not disturb or turn over rocks, and avoid entering wooded areas. If you must enter, it would be better to wear a hat and carry a stick to rustle leaves and grass, which can help scare away snakes.
- If you find snakes on campus, please immediately contact the security office on Taipei Campus at 02-28824564 ext. 2369; Taoyuan Campus at 03-3507001 ext. 3128. Do not approach the snakes randomly to avoid any potential dangers.
